I bought this item intending to use it as a microphone/speaker combo with Skype for my 2nd generation iPod Touch, turning into a wifi phone of sorts. On the Touch, if you plug anything into the audio jack, it thinks you're plugging in a pair of headphones, and logically disables the external speaker. However, this creates a need for anyone trying to hold a conversation on the Touch to also need a speaker. I thought I could use this to while making phones call, talking into the microphone and hearing responses through the speaker. But a fatal design flaw in the product prevents the microphone and speaker from being used at the same time. If you receive any voice through the speaker, the microphone is sensitive enough to pick up this sound and send it back to your call recipient, creating an annoying echo that renders the whole system useless. If you're trying to use your iPod Touch as a phone, don't get this product, get a headset instead. It isn't as convenient, but your callers won't be assaulted with an annoying echo every time they try to speak.
As far as the product itself is concerned, both the speaker and microphone produce decent quality sound, although the speaker is not as good as the external one that comes with the Touch. I feel a little uncomfortable carrying this around in my pocket attached to my ipod, as it feels like it could snap off easily. All in all, the individual components of this product work fairly well, but I don't see any possible uses for this product without huge drawbacks. I returned mine, and I would recommend against buying it.
