I purchased this as a gift for my mother.She has an iPod Nano 3rd Generation that she only listens to while driving.She has a lot of audiobooks on the Nano, but she would rather not walk around the house with her headphones on to listen, so I thought I'd pick this up for her so that she could listen at home (instead of just in the car).It was priced right and I thought I couldn't go wrong with an iHome.Every hotel I frequent seems to have an iHome and it sounds great!I bought a few different iHomes as gifts to my brother and daughter - and both are very happy.

The box comes with the speakers, power adapter, audio cables, sync cable, ipod adapters, and color customizations.It was very simple to set up.When her Nano is in the iHome, it charges by default.You can either have this set plugged in, or choose to operate on batteries.We chose to plug it in.

The system looks very modern and sounds pretty decent for a smaller set.We definitely got MORE than our money's worth on this.We are very happy with this purchase and recommend this set.

iHome iP1 Studio Series Speaker System for iPhone/iPod Review

I think this system is one of the best, if not the best, sound systems available for iPhone/iPod considering its cost and sound quality. A similar Bose system cost about $400. Yet, IP1 fails in few areas, mainly some basic design areas and secondly sound fine tuning. Good:
-Cost is lesser than similar Bose
-Good sized remote easily controls iPhones or iPod.
-Sound quality is not bad, actually very clean.
-iPhone or iTouch, once docked, lays its back to the device, getting a good support from IP1s plexi-glass surface, preventing accidental breaking of the connection. Bose does not have this advantage.
-Design is appealing to some as it is a bit different (based on personal preference), some likes boxy, minimalist design, like my self.

Bad:
-Yes it sounds nice, but no matter how much you lower the treble, it still sounds high on treble, even with the extra bass.
-No, it does not sound high enough to tremble the room, the volume is in lower end, may be this is good to prevent over load on the speakers.
-The infamous "power brick", which is separate piece than the system is almost three time bigger than an average laptop power brick. It requires extra attention to place into a proper location so it won't be visible. iHome should have designed better brick, AppleTV has some lessons on this area.
-Design is a bit un-minimalistic for my taste. System's design makes it difficult to safely place it or carry it around. You may need to place this in place and leave it there. To much curves/corners. iHome would better box this into a nice quality plastic container for practical purposes.

Conclusion:
- Yes, I would recommend this system to anyone who is looking for a moderately quality sound system with good price. It is well worth to pay around $230 for this system. However, do not expect miracles, and forget about being mobile with this, even in the house.
-I congratulate iHome folks to initiate this type of system, I am hoping they will improve on this in design and sound area. They are almost there. With an inclusion wi-fi radio system, iHome may come up a better product that may crush all the other new music systems out there.

TIPS:

1- You can install the "Shoutcast" app to your iPhone and stream thousands internet radios just like a wi-fi radio, now, you have a wi-fi radio as well.

2- Or, better, you can buy an Airport Express for $99.
Connect it to music system with its 3.5mm connection,
Configure it to connect to your Mac or PC's iTunes application
Play the music you like on your Mac or PC with iTunes application to have the music streamed into the Air port Express which puts it to any sound system.

3- Even, better, (yes it gets better ) you can also install "Remote" application from app store into your iPhone or Touch which controls your iTunes player on your Mac or PC.
In turn, wherever you are in your house, you control your music with iPhone via Remote app (like a remote control, but seeing entire iTunes library on your iPhone/Touch) through wi-fi network, streaming the music into the any stereo via AirPort Express.

The product works great...The speakers are very small but they have plenty of volume and also have a good battery life.I use it with the iPod shuffle around the house and outside.It would be good to be able to plug it into the wall instead of computer USB only...I have a USB to wall converter that I use though. iHome iP29 Portable Speaker Case for iPod and iPhone (Black) Review

I've long been looking for a truly portable (battery capable) set of speakers for my iPhone that actually have good sound.iHome delivers!For its size and cost, the sounds is among the best I've heard.No, you're not going to get thumping bass from a speaker like this - some sacrifices have to be made for the size.That said, this speaker can get quite loud with good tone and no (or very minimal) distortion at max volume.I also like that it comes with the AC adapter and an auxiliary line cord (for hooking up other equipment) included.It also charges your iPhone/iPod while docked when it's on AC power.When away from power, the 4 AA batteries last quite awhile as well - even at medium volumes (which is pretty loud for this speaker).I'm still trying to kill the original set after about 6 hours of continuous music playback.

My iPhone docks securely without an adapter while still in the case (Incase Slider)!That was a big factor for me - not having to remove the case in order to dock.There are also adapters available for various iPods.

Construction wise, it seems well built and is very compact when zippered closed.I do have two suggestions for a revision, however.The first is that the zipper is quite stiff and you need a good deal of force to zip it open/closed.Perhaps this will give more after repeated use.The final complaint concerns the straps that hold the speaker open.With my iPhone docked, it serves to keep the speaker open.Without it, the straps aren't quite long enough and the top of the case keeps wanting to close.If they'd made the straps just a few millimeters longer, it would solve this.My solution is simple - just put something (like a couple of magazines) under the front of the speaker and let gravity keep it open.Again, this is only an issue if you don't have an iPhone or iPod Touch docked.For these reasons, however, I can't give it 5-stars.

Overall, I highly recommend this portable speaker for iPhone and iPod users.It really does have excellent sound for its size and reasonable price!Being somewhat of an electronics snob, I continue to be impressed with the products iHome is releasing.It's obvious they do a lot of research to find out what people are looking for in their products and they put them together with quality.

iHome iH69B5 Computer Stereo Speaker System with Dock for iPod (Black) Review

So I picked these up because I found them very cheap at a local store. I also own the JBL On Stage II Speaker and Docking Station for iPod (Black), and compared to the JBL system, the iHomes one has very unclear sound; voices are hard to distingusish from the highs and the speakers have virtually no bass reproduction. They were easy to set up and the presentation is nice, but I can't justify keeping speakers that sound this terrible. I bought two sets for 30 USD a set and they are both going back.

I too had read a million reviews for a million products. I decided to risk it with this since most of the reviews were good. I have A 4TH GENERATION NANO- and yes there is an adapter for it. We listen to it everyday. IT CHARGES YOUR IPOD WHILE DOCKED. The sound is great. The color change is cool. I wanted something small that sounded great. I use it in every room of the house, especially the kitchen while I am preparing meals. The sound is great for such a small cube. I would recommend this to anyone of any age. In a day where most things don't do what they say in the advertisement, finally something that exceeds those promises. You won't go wrong with this one.

I absolutely love it!! I wasn't sure if it'd work with my iphone to play music off of but it works great. The sound is wonderful. I also hook it up to my comp if I'm watching a movie on it for a surround sound kind of experience and it's super nice. The remote is very very handy too. It's worth the price.
