First of all, I have to agree with the other reviewer who dislike the design of this speaker. Yes, very unfortunately, this speaker looks terrible in my living room. I have to excuse every time the guest comes over. Terribly bad design.
Despite of its design, the sound is simply the first class. Very honest and no obvious defect in sound. I'm super picky about the sound and currently own $15000/pair speakers (not B&W) as a my main speakers, but I have absolutely no complain about the sound of Zeppelin. Bass is right (not hyped), mid is very intimate, high is super clean and quiet. I don't think you can get more balanced sound than Zeppelin less than $1000. Way better than Bose and Minipod (Scandyna) that I used to use for iPod playback.
I strongly disagree with the other reviewer who says the Scandyna sounds better than Zeppelin. I know how Scandyna sounds, it's just another over-designed consumer grade speakers which sounds very hyped, dishonest and tiresome. If you are looking for neutral sound iPod speaker, Zeppelin is the answer.
My music preference is alternative, art rock, jazz, classical, fork and electronic, old school hip hop and dub step

Technology Not only is the shape of Zeppelin pleasing to the eye, but it also is based on sound acoustic principles. This sounds like a perfect product, however in function, there are several serious short comings.First and foremost, this has a very poor bass heavy sound.With no tone control, there's no way to compensate.Second, the radio reception with the included AM and FM antenna is very poor.Third, the Bluetooth adapter included with the radio does not work with most Bluetooth phones (including Verizon Motorola KRZR).
Pros: Nice box, quality material used in the construction, sturdy with good weight. Additional USB 2.0 port. Aesthetically consistent with my Macbook Pro.
This is a very good way to install speakers. You must be sure, of course, that JBL SP8C In-Ceiling Speaker is the speaker you will install into it. I installed four speakers without the rough-in kit, with drywall guys forgetting to cut out marked openings for two of them! So, when finishing my basement, I bought the rough-in kits, screwed them where I wanted my speakers to go, ran the wires to them, and that was it. Since the rough-in kit protrudes 1/2" beyond the level of unfinished ceiling, just like any electrical box, the drywall guys easily cut out for each kit in the same way as they do for any wall or ceiling mounted electrical box.
We use this in our kitchen and to have a 'stereo' in our camper.It is just great.It is very easy to use (just plug it in and your ipod in the slot). It recharges my ipod also... so I don't have to keep hooking it up to the computer.The sound is really good for such a little set and is ideal for using in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom -- where you may want to have some music, but don't need the full monty. It comes with the AC cord (a nice feature) and multiple plugs that 'slide' onto the adapter -- so you can take it overseas and use it on AC.. it also runs on batteries.
I bought a pair of these to hold my front surround speakers.My speakers are only about 8 pounds and these mounts are not up to the task.Poorly constructed and difficult to adjust.
These plugs are solidly constructed.I do wish they gave the option of being taken apart as the distance apart is not standard on AV- Receivers. Overall, they are very well built, look great and provide great sound.

This Portable Speaker is a piece of crap.Doesn't work
After comparing the Creative Playworks DTT2500 with the Yamaha TSS1B and the Altec Lansing ADA890 for a 5.1 Dolby Digital system for the PS2; the DTT2500 was my choice.This compact desktop theater is very compatible with the Sony PS2, using the optical audio connector.
The sound quality is good, but better the further from the speakers, which is not their purpose as desktop computer speakers.
It is obvious that Apple made a mistake claiming the Ipod Hi Fi would replace an Audiophile's home system.That claim has opened them up for criticism but, that is the only thing that can be criticized.The Hi Fi system is what it is - and that is a pretty amazing little device.I am not an expert, nor am I a novice in the art of high fidelity.I am, however, a Musician who has held Music and sound quality close to my heart for many, many years.I went to the Apple store with my AAC compressed 4 gig Nano and plugged into the system.Honestly, the sound at the store did not "blow me away"; I was in a busy store with much background noise.Realizing that the environment has much to do with sound quality, I took a chance and purchased it.I had dismissed most of the reviews that I read as sour grapes (for some reason) against Apple from people who do not own the system - had to be, some of the reviews were written before the system was even available!I was right; when I got this home and listened to it I was impressed.I do not listen to music that has that "wall' of sound (i.e. power chords, screaming vocals, retarded drums) I listen to music that has dimension (i.e. Jazz, Funk, Fusion).I wanted an audio device that would allow me to control my Ipod via remote, hold most of my favorite tunes, not fill my living room up with audio equipment, and be loud and clear enough to surround me with un-distorted sound.This system fills that bill.My one complaint is:you need to crank it up a bit for it to "come alive".At loud volumes, I find the tone control set to treble boost works best and at lower volumes set it to bass boost, meaning you need to re-adjust it upon volume changes.One other point, some of the lower end tunes on my Ipod sometimes distort when listening through the ear buds.This system seems to clean that up when cranking through the system.The added bonus being that I can use it in my backyard.
I have just recently received my new MX85's and they are fantastic.I previously had the green MX75's which served me perfectly for over 1,000km's of running.These new orange MX85's are very similar in design with only 2 noticeable differences. The first being the little piece thatclips into the top of your ear is softer, giving the new earphones a more comfortable fit overall.Secondly, the stiff wire has been replace by a softer wire in the MX85's.Time will tell if this softer approach will last as long.
i got one. it works good, but the mike plays a bit messy.... i just got one just to have it. for $3.00. y not?
This is an extremely useful product for people who want to listen to their iPods in their car.
These little speakers are great!I was just using some extra money on a gift card and decided to order these.I was pleasantly surprised at how well they sound...Obviously, they don't sound like Bose speakers, but then again, they are 1% of the cost...I actually liked them so much I order 2 more sets as backups...They are great for us to take on vacation to the beach, take out on our deck and by the pool....we have a lot of fun with them.The battery life is good, the only draw back is they do not come with an AC Adaptor.Other than that, I think this is a great product for the price....
While the rotating unit feature is cool in a engineer/nerd (engi-nerd) type sense, it does not justify this product at price point.
This is a great little portable speaker system that I let my 2-year old use, but be warned - it does NOT come with an AC power adapter - that is sold separately despite the description listed here. The ihome one is an additional $21
This simple, straight forward, and affordable little device works exactly as advertised. If you're a total audiophile and into having all the super high equipment then I'm not sure if this is what you want, but for the rest of us that just want something that works it's great. It has a couple of nice little touches... The rubber feet it rests on are very grippy so (despite its light weight) it doesn't slide backwards when you push the buttons on the front. It also comes with a bunch of little pre-printed stickers to label the buttons "Kitchen", "Living Room", etc.
the last time I encountered something this user unfriendly was years upon years ago when manufacturers didn't really care how easy it was it use the product you bought from them.This thing was almost as bad as trying to set the time on your vcr without the TV.I mean for something that interfaces with the IPOD of all things its a headache working with it.SOmetimes I don't even bother with it and just use it to charge my IPOD. If it was a bit more user friendly it wouldn't be bad.
I found the picture & discription a bit misleading. This is only one pair good for only 1 wire. So you would need to buy 2 of these for a single subwoofer. Thats $18 just not worth it. Keep looking they have better & cheaper here.
Nowhere in the description does this state it is made to attach to a Lenovo monitor. I did a search for 'laptop speakers' and this looked like it would be compact and functional. The sound is no better than the speakers in my laptop and because of its design I can't use it without it being in the way. If the cable was at the end or it opened a little wider it might be possible to lay across the top of the keyboard next to the hinges.
The jWIN (really iLuv) was the worst experience I have ever had with a stereo system. I am a bit of an audio-phile so I am particular about my sound anyway... but I can assure you that any normal music-loving person will be dissappointed with this system. I bought it because of the bluepin technology - wireless from computer to stereo. When I connected my computer to the bluepin with bluetooth (this is NOT something that plugs into your computer... it's a little separate transmitter that plugs into the stereo itself, which is stupid, and it is the most horrible bluetooth transmission in the world. When I sent music from my laptop to the stereo it was garbled, muffled, and terrible sounding. The subwoofer was overpowering and the quality of the sound was not pleasing at all. Furthermore, when I plugged my iPod into the stereo (what it originally was made to do) the music was still less than satisfying. There was a constant feedback whine when music wasn't playing and it didn't go away when I turned the music on either. The music was still muffled and I'm guessing the whole system was just broken, or it sucked so bad that it qualified as... broken. 
I recently purchased a new computer that came with a wide-vision monitor.It would be fine for watching movies, but we watch movies on our wide-screen HDTV.I did not like the way the wide-screen monitor distorted everything, especially photos, that it displayed.Therefore, I shopped around for a 'square' monitor and found the ACER V193.It is EXACTLY what I wanted!Photos are no longer distorted - GREAT!I highly recommend this monitor for those who do not use their computer's for watching movies.Couldn't be happier with it.
These speakers represent a mindblowing, inconceivable price-performance proposition for the true music lover. The clarity, neutrality, musicality, staging and transparency is simply unreal for a <$400 speaker. If someone had told me these speakers were 5 times their price as I listened to them, I would have believed it.
These are great for what they are, of course you can't expect much bass from a pocket sized speaker, but they run 40 hrs on 3 AAA's and are great for just about anything. I love them for hiking, walking, biking, or anywhere I want tunes combined with hearing my environment.
Easy to install even though I thought the installation method was a bit over the top for speakers so light.
This is the next generation of iPod sound docks! I own a Logitech and a Bose sound dock. They both have their good and bad points, but neither of them offers the capability of this product...namely, the ability to have complete control of all iPod functions, using the iPod itself, at a remote distance from the sound box. The remote controls on all other units serve mainly as volume controllers, with the user having to approach the sound box to see what's going on on the iPod's screen. And though this is obviously anecdotal, I would testify that the Yamaha's sound quality outstrips both my Bose Sound Dock II, which has the typical Bose "muffled," soft, basey, quality, and my Logitech PureFi II, which has very good crisp sound at low levels but rapidly loses quality as the volume goes up (and has other well-documented issues as well). The Yamaha appears to have a wide frequency range and the ability to hold the sound quality with increased volume. The Yamaha also offers you the option to plug your iPod directly into the sound box itself, as you do with other brands, and use the separate, included hand-held to control the functions if you prefer. All is not perfect. If I am not mistaken, the hand-held transmitter, which hold your iPod, is RF (radio frequency) operated, but responds in a line-of-site manner, akin to an infrared system. If you block the transmitter with an obstruction, even your own body, the sound will be disrupted. Still, this is a minor limitation, considering the complete control available. This was a gift purchase for my spouse, but it is so impressive I wouldn't be surprised to see one appearing for my own use in the future. Kudos Yamaha! (note that this product is only compatible with later generation iPod models which use USB connectors)
I bought this when I bought my speakers for my lap top thinking it would be less messy with the cords on the side instead of the front. I can't get anything but a static hum from the audio out port.It will evidently work for headphones but not speakers.
