I had a problem using the mic on my headset for certain applications including Ventrilo. I am happy to report that this adapter does exactly what I purchased it for. All I had to do was restart my computer once I connected my headset to the adapter and the adapter to the USB port of my computer. The adapter didn't hamper the sound coming through the headphones and I am now able to send sound through my mic. Great product!
