Superspeed USB 3.0 2PORT EXPRESSCARD/34 for Notebook Upgrade Review

I needed faster throughput from my external USB-2.0 hard drives. Having had great success with SIIG's high-quality products in the past, I bought two SIIG ssUSB 3.0 ExpressCards for my two Core i7 laptops. These SIIG ExpressCards come with an attachable plastic wing-like guide that acts like a 54mm Card which adds much needed stability and solid connection to a narrow 34mm card. Huge speed improvement over my USB 2.0 interface when using CrystalDiskMark and HD Tune to clock the speeds.

My standard SATA II drives using USB 2.0 delivered documented speeds at 33MB/s Read and 25MB/s Write. The same SATA II external drives with the SIIG ssUSB 3.0 ExpressCard interface more than tripled the Read speed and doubled the Write speed at 115MB/s Read and 63MB/s Write. I also bought the SIIG USB 3.0 dockers and USB 3.0 enclosures - also superior quality! The SIIG products are well designed and engineered, with excellent customer service and a willingness to answer my several emailed questions promptly. Excellent company with excellent products and service.
