Ge Wireless Camera System with Receiver for Tv Review

We bought this item with camera when they were on sale at Target. I could install it and start watching the video on a TV very quickly.

Pros:
- Looks good and feels like good quality
- Easy setup
- Accepts up to 3 cameras and can cycle through each camera when more than 1 camera is setup.
- Cameras that come with this are capable of night-vision with infrared LED lights
- Reception on the receiver is quite good through the walls at distances over 25 feet. I haven't tested beyond 25 feet.

Cons:
- Transmission frequencies are fixed. 3 cameras take 3 different frequencies and that can not be changed. You can set which camera to take which frequency.
- Channel two is uselss for us as it interferes with our wireless network. So, we can use only two cameras with this unit; on channels 1 and 3. I am very disappointed with this problem, but not enough to return the product.
- Picture quality is acceptable for simple monitoring.
- Night-vision is good enough for monitorying a sleeping baby in the crib. Not good enough for home monitoring because its range is limited to 10 feet or so.
- Default cycling time between the cameras is 4 seconds. There is significant flicker when the video switches from one camera to the other. Sometime the flicker lasts over 2 seconds basically reducing the watchable video duration to about 2 seconds.

In spite of all the cons, I recommend the product because of its clean appearance and easy setup.
